The lineup for the festival comprises around 29 public events in a variety of sites in the exceptional setting of the Royal Bastide of Villefranche-de-Rouergue.

Villefranche de Rouergue was founded in 1252 by Alphonse de Poitiers, Count of Toulouse and brother of King Saint Louis. The town presents, on a large scale, the characteristic layout of new towns of the period: a grid of streets with a square in the centre where religious and public life was carried out.

From Villefranche-de-Rouerge, you can discover the circuit of the Aveyron bastides.

Your stroll through the narrow streets of the bastide will undoubtedly lead you to the central square, which is the heart of the town. This is a square lined with covered arcades characteristic of the bastides and by the enormous entrance porch of the Collégiale.

Make the most of the Thursday morning market which has run regularly for eight hundred years, with its extraordinary mix of homegrown foods, spices, cheeses, and a variety of other stalls.
